Default Hi All!!

Hello SureSlim ladies :-)

I'm Claire, and I'm on Day 3 of the program.

The first day was such a shock - I've never ate so little in my entire life!! (Which is obviously why I've been knocking on the door of 20 stone for the last few years!)

But I have to say, I'm at the end of day 3 and I feel fantastic! I was starting to despise my over-eating - I used to eat for pleasure, but just lately it's all about obsession...greed....compulsion maybe. Who knows why I do it, but I stopped enjoying it a long time ago, and I want to make this the year I change.

I gave up smoking 2 years ago, so this should be a doddle, right?

Anyway, you ladies are all such inspirations, and I hope to hear a lot more from all of you. Let me know how you're all getting on!!

Cheers,
Claire

Welcome Claire, glad it's going well for you. Yes the amount of food can be s hock to some - but a relief in some ways to finally get some control in your life.

Good luck with the first week and we look forward to hearing how you get on at first weigh in

Hi Claire,
Congratulations firstly on giving up smoking (it took me 20 years to give up!) and secondly on joining SS - it will be the best decision you've made in years! I'm really pleased that you have settled into it so quickly - some of us went through the dreaded detox symptoms when we first started - headaches, irritability, lethargy, but the symptoms do not last long.

I absolutely know what you mean about your food obsession/greed/compulsion - I was exactly the same. I would gorge on food whether I was hungry or not. It was because if I wasn't dieting, I would be bingeing because I would need to eat all the rubbish that I wouldn't be able to eat when I started my next diet which inevitably failed. And so the vicious cycle went until I started SS that is.

Enjoy the plan and if you need any help, support or a chat, just log on and there's usually someone on line for you.

Lots of luck this week, looking forward to seeing you first loss posted x

Ah girls - thank you all so much. You wouldn't believe the smile on my face when I saw I had all those replies!!!

You lot - you have lost so much!! Such an inspiration.

I've had a really hungry day today, and I have to wait 2 more hours for my tea
It woudln't be so bad if I was at home, cause I could get in my kitchen and prepare stuff, and maybe slow roast it in the oven...but I work in London through the week so I have this hotel room with a tiny kitchenette - just one hob and one microwave!

Still....I'm not moaning, cause like one of you said, it's a relief to be on this, and I'm very thankful for it.

My free veggies...i've been eating lots of cucumber and rocket. Maybe you girls can help me though - can any of you tell me what these are please? : -

Belgian Endive ??
Chicory ??

Thanks so much,
Claire

Belgian endive and chicory are one and the same thing!

Currently don't seem to have them in Asda, they look a bit like a mini chinese leaf, nice braised, or I just grill them on the foreman and use them to go with butternut squash chips and a piece of fish

Maybe try Tesco's or Sainsburys.

Hi Claire - welcome to SS and the Forum. Like you I gave up smoking nearly 2 years ago now. I had tried to quit so many times that I put on a lot of weight, but once I was sure I wasn't going to start again I decided it was time to lose the weight. SS has allowed me to become really healthy and lose weight without the pain of strict exercise programmes. These days, I exercise because I can and because I like it.

Well done on getting through the first and hardest days.

Barbara

welcome to the Forum,

yes the amounts are a shock when you start but you do soon get used to them ... make sure you make full use of all your free foods, Smedley has answered you about Belgian Envides.

you can make Celery and Watercress Soup, recipe in the food section and it really does make the difference and gives you a 3 course meal.

good luck and look forward to hearing on your progress.
